"Fidal Nadal created history last night when he became the first Argentine national to perform in Barbados during the Crop Over Festival. Nadal was the headline act at Pan Fusion last night and will appear briefly as a surprise act during this evening’s Pan Pun De Sand event at Brandon’s Beach".

"Argentina Ambassador to Barbados Gustavo Martinez Pandiani said having Nadal perform in Barbados was the best way to celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. 'We were here since 1968, so for us it’s very important to celebrate this anniversary with our culture. We want to share our culture and our friendship and the best way we found to share that culture is to get the best artiste we have in Argentina and bring him here. In the case of Fidal Nadal, he was the ideal person to come because of his background, because of the music he sings. We had this dream during February, and I called Fidal and he was immediately on board,' the ambassador said".

"Nadal, a traditional reggae singer, said he was honoured to be performing and to being the first Argentine to do so. 'Crop Over is the biggest festival here in Barbados so I’m honoured to be performing and being here for the first time. I’ve had a long career and have visited many countries but this is my first time here and I’m excited and happy and can’t wait to get onstage. I love it here in Barbados,' Nadal said".

"He said he was especially looking forward to singing over pan music for the first time. 'I love the pan music. I’ve always heard the pan music, it’s an amazing thing. I’m going to do all my songs but with the pan and I’m really looking forward to that. I never sang with pan before but I’m going to try to do my best. My first mission is that the people in Barbados like it and once I achieve that, I will be back, for sure,' he said, adding that he will be performing only original music".

"Ambassador Martinez Pandiani said they would continue to look for ways to strengthen the relationship with Barbados and to share the two cultures. In addition to Nadal’s performances, there will also be a traditional Argentine tango dance during Bridgetown Market".

"Argentina may have made an early exit from the World Cup in Moscow, but some Argentine fans will be able to get a taste of the culture on July 14th. That’s when Argentine musician Fidel Nadal will attend the First Citizens Pan Fusion at Ilaro Court as part of a collaboration with the Embassy of Argentina in Barbados".

"Senior producer Karen Pestaina told reporters at the launch of the eighth edition of Pan Fusion on Monday at Ilaro Court that Nadal will be a major drawing card for this year’s event. He has two Latin Grammy awards and is well known in Europe and Jamaica. Alongside Nadal, there will be regional acts, including the Alternative Quartet, a string quartet group from Trinidad and Tobago that blends strings and steel".

"Addressing reporters, National Cultural Foundation Chief Executive Officer Cranston Browne explained that the NCF was constantly looking for that blend of music to keep this niche audience captivated, 'so you can say that we are always in [a] transformational stage. We [want] emerging talent [to rise] from their cocoons and realize their dreams, performing alongside regional, local and international greats'".
